THE INDIAN CINEMA

I got this idea of writing something about Indian film when i heard from one of the excerpts of Russel Peters. The whole image of the Indian films starting from the Dadhasaheb era till date lies on the quantum of glamor and beauty. I gawk at the posters of Mallika Sherawat, Govinda, Sanjay Dutt and other similar shits who neither have the talent or looks. And out of this crap ; Rajinikanth, known for his creepy style and who is parodied with supernatural jokes on him. This guy neither speaks Tamil properly nor Hindi nor English but still sustains to put up a breathtaking record in the box office.
The whole industry is a holy shit which is further ramified into two major shits namely Bolly ( North Indian shit) and Kolly( South Indian shit). These two are united in the fact that each copy the script of films and release in the respective languages; even hollywood films are tiptoed in the duplicability.
But there lies the most astonishing difference between south and north Indian films on the basis of devotion incognited as adulation. I remember the days of college in South India; where a film released was similar to a food carnival in Disney Land. The posters of the actors are idolized and anointed with all sorts of temple practices.
In India, if an actor reaches his stardom ; you can definitely see him in most of the soap/shampoo advertisements and later into politics. The most amazing of all is the statistics of each actor; Google it.They perpetuate their bio data like a stats of a cricket player. Each actor has acted AT LEAST in 100 films in his lifetime. Just imagine of this guy if he acted in 100 Hollywood films and could obviously afford to own a separate country.
We need to rehabilitate and learn the reforms of the film culture from people like Anthony Hopkins and Freeman who have culminated to this level with core talent. But to be in the honest side, there are certain players in Indian Cinema like Amithabhs and Shivaji Ganesans whose eloquence dominates.
Thank god to the evolution of human race at least for keeping the south Indian heroes ugly and emphasizing on talent rather than looks.
